Michael Schumacher wins the French Grand Prix at Magny Cours. Title rival Fernando Alonso finished second. A Ferrari beating a Renault, an Italian car beating a French car, or put it another way, Italy wins over France once again. Do you get my point now? 
Given this result, Michael Schumacher reduces the gap in the driver championship by 2 points. Thus Fernando Alonso is leading the championship by 17 points now.
